Throughout the years, SMI AV has provided high quality audio-visual services for a variety of special events. Because we have dealt with so many different events, there are occasionally events that pose particularly unique challenges. On three such events, listed below, our team worked together to come up with creative, out-of-the-box solutions.
Case Study #1
A motorcycle apparel and helmet manufacturing and distribution company had been doing quarterly product updates and training for their national sales teams remotely for several years. Recently, however, they had been getting feedback that their updates and training sessions weren’t as effective as they could be.
We helped them create videos with dense information content and high-quality images of their products that would help increase engagement and information retention of their product training, as well as live stream business communications for their remote operations and sales teams.

Case Study #2
One of our live event clients, a global apparel and shoe manufacturer headquartered in Santa Barbara County, has a long history of doing large-scale, in-person events for team building and company updates at their offices and in hotel conference spaces.
They had already been exploring digital communications and live streams as ways to reduce travel, but in March of 2020 (due to COVID regulations) they needed to quickly convert all their business communications, both internal and with their clients and partners, to virtual live streams, and they were determined to do so without losing the quality and impact of their messages.

A local boarding school had a parent’s weekend event that was originally planned to be for on-site participants only. As the event approached, they received several requests for remote participation from parents who would not be able to attend in person.
Working with our client, we helped them combine some events and move others to a new location to minimize the live stream equipment requirements, while still being able to create the same experience for the in-person attendees and the remote live stream participants.
